Information Design (ID) Students:

As part of our strategic realignment of PLC's Certificates the ID Certificate will be DISCONTINUED September 1, 2007. If you are currently pursuing an ID Certificate and require additional courses to complete it by September 1, 2007 please contact PLC by September 1, 2006

A program for technical communicators, instructional designers,
information architects and content managers.

This interdisciplinary program emphasizes the content, structure and management of online information, an understanding of Internet and network technologies, and the influence of perceptual and cognitive factors, in order to produce effective information designers. The program is focussed on users, with an emphasis on usability testing to ensure that products achieve their objectives.

On completion of this program, you will be able to design effective and accessible products for a wide range of audiences and media – from print to digital. You'll have the document management skills to understand issues in the storage, access, retrieval, and navigation of information plus the analytical skills, information design methodology, and usability techniques to measure product effectiveness.

To complete the Certificate requirements, students require a minimum of 120 hours of instruction.
